Emen Group Calvary Crossroads offers an accountability group for men that is unique for its emphasis on the positive rather than the negative aspects of a man’s life. Patterned closely after the E-men idea birthed by Dee Duke of Jefferson Baptist Church in Jefferson, OR, this E-men’s group challenges men to a reach a sustained level of faithfulness in the basic disciplines of the Christian life (prayer, Bible reading, etc.). The E-man purposes to do 15 things each week, and then sends his group an email comprised of his report on how well he did with those 15 things. The other men likewise send in reports to everyone else in the group. In turn, each man reads the reports of others, prays for them, and then sends an encouraging reply or a mild reproof for him to read. The leader of the group (Pastor Jay) tracks everyone’s faithfulness each week and keeps a running tab of how each one is doing, week to week. There is no such thing as a bad report. A breakfast is held on the first Saturday of each month during which recognition is given to those men whose faithfulness warrants it. Pastor gives a short men’s devotion and offers practical tips on how to tackle the disciplines with greater success. All you need is an email address and a desire to grow. You do not need to be a member or attender of Calvary Crossroads to be in this group. Simply .   |
