Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Calvary Crossroads is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Calvary Crossroads members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Mission Outreach

 Calvary Crossroads is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world and even here in our own country, state, and city.  We are active in supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers.

Music

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Calvary Crossroads, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers, Greeters, and Parking Lot Monitors

The usher team at Calvary Crossroads fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men whose ministry is integral to church life.

The greeters are also there to help people who may need information.  These ladies and gentlemen delight in being a warm and friendly face to someone who needs one the most!

The parking lot monitors are there to insure that our campus is safe from unwelcome intrusions.  These men are also willing and able to point a seeker in the right direction.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Calvary Crossroads. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for God’s purposes.   Soon all of our weekly sermons will be uploaded to our website in audio format. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication.

Marriage Counseling

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage.  The pastoral staff at Calvary Crossroads serves as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Calvary Crossroads is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday evening a gathering of volunteers prays for the ministry of the entire church, including the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. Throughout the week, individual believers pray for their pastor, a list of church members, those who have visited, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

Children’s Education

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Calvary Crossroads conducts a Sunday school in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.
